Almost four decades in the holistic healing arts — a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and teacher for over thirty-seven years.
Jane has spent almost 40 years studying holistic healing and has been a full-time Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and instructor since 1989.
She initially studied with Mary Burmeister, the mother of Jin Shin Jyutsu, who introduced this ancient art to the United States. Subsequently, she received private mentorship from Mary's protégé, Pamela Smith, for over two decades. Jane is certified by Jin Shin Jyutsu, Inc., and contributed to the development of the original textbooks for the Jin Shin Institute.
Having been a guest lecturer of Jin Shin Jyutsu at the University of California, Berkeley, as well as appearing on television and radio, Jane has been an unwavering advocate for optimal health through the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu.
Jane discovered Jin Shin Jyutsu after enduring persistent back pain for over a year. She consulted her conventional medical doctor, underwent physical therapy, chiropractic care, and various alternative modalities, but none provided complete relief. It was during a massage session with a friend who incorporated Jin Shin Jyutsu that she experienced a profound transformation in her body. Intrigued, she inquired about the practitioner's techniques, who introduced her to Jin Shin Jyutsu and demonstrated self-application. Remarkably, the practice effectively eliminated her pain. Driven by the desire to share this remarkable discovery, Jane pursued her training and embarked on a fulfilling career as a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner.
Her initial role as a practitioner involved working in a local medical doctor's office. The doctor was receptive to Jin Shin Jyutsu, enabling Jane to collaborate with a diverse range of health projects within a short timeframe. This experience propelled her into a private practice. Jane continues to receive referrals from numerous conventional medical doctors, nurses, chiropractors, psychotherapists, and psychologists.
Jin Shin Jyutsu (jit soo) is an ancient Asian healing art that releases the deep tension and imbalance in the body.
Once this is released, your body can heal itself more easily and completely. This results in more vibrant health, better rest, less pain, faster healing, and greater resistance to illness and degeneration.
Einstein taught us that all matter is energy. Our bodies are literally dense energy. In the far east they have known for centuries that this energy moves in very specific pathways or flows throughout the body.
Whenever there is trauma on any level — mentally, physically, or emotionally — those energy flows will lock up (similar to a circuit breaker) to keep us from overload. The problems arise when these points stay locked up. When this happens, the body has to find less efficient ways to move energy throughout its systems, impairing its own self-healing ability. Jin Shin Jyutsu dissolves these blockages and re-establishes proper flow.
Typically tension has been part of our lives for so long that we may not even notice its presence, but we frequently feel its effects. Left unreleased, tension causes imbalance that can contribute to fatigue and discomfort.
In the Far East it has been known for centuries that ill health is rooted in tension and imbalance. Stress and the resulting tension can rob us of our optimum health.
As we know, tension develops due to a variety of stress factors. Some of these are; physical injury, emotional strain, mental fatigue, lack of sleep, environmental toxins, and diet.
While many traditional medical practices aim to alleviate the symptoms of an illness — masking back pain instead of treating the root cause — Jin Shin Jyutsu addresses the underlying cause for the condition.
Clients often seek Jin Shin Jyutsu to help with:
Jin Shin Jyutsu works beautifully as a standalone practice and as a complement to conventional medical treatment, supporting your body's natural ability to heal and find harmony.
Jin Shin Jyutsu is similar to acupuncture but without the discomfort of needles. The practitioner manually adjusts points on the body in specific sequences. These points, called "safety energy locks," are locations where the energy of chi tends to lock up and cause tension and imbalance.
By adjusting these key safety energy locks properly, an amazing thing happens. Vitality and health start to be restored — and it works on all levels: physically, mentally, and emotionally.
